I always wait until I reach my resort to rent a car so that I can avoid the confusion at the airport and I am well rested and ready to get into the negotiations, etc. When I was ready to rent, I asked the desk clerk about the car rentals and she put me in touch with a Jimmy Fitzpatrick, a personal friend of hers. Jimmy delivered the car to the resort on time and picked it up at the time we agreed. It was so much easier and more convenient than renting (the same car) from the "Big Guys" and less expensive. Jimmy even made a return trip to the resort to bring back my wife's sunglasses that she had left in the car. Thank you Jimmy. We will definitely be in touch with Jimmy for another rental car next April 2011. This time I will make the reservation in advance.

I was lucky enough to find Leisure Car Rentals online after a Google search. I have been coming to SXM for about 7 years and rented from several companies before. Jimmy gave us a brand new car at an excellent price. Someone hit our rear bumper but Jimmy immediately sorted it out for us which enabled us to continue to enjoy our vacation without disruption. I can thoroughly recommend him and his company.

I would definitely use them again. Jimmy was a pleasure to work with. My flight was an hour early and I called him and he still met me at the airport in a timely manner. He offered insurance to me that I did not get online. Unfortunately I took the $5 one and someone broke into the car while parked at the marina the day I was to leave St. Martin. Jimmy met me to look at the car and took car of my statement for the police report. They were very fair with what I paid to have the lock fixed even though it was a brand new car. So much so that I didn't file an insurance claim at home and risk having that go up.

Excellent service!!! I asked for pick-up and delivery at cruise terminal. The car rental representative was very friendly and always on time. Car was not new but in fairly good conditions. I requested a mini-van and they provided me with a seven passengers SUV at no extra charge. Reservation was made through Leisure's Website

I have always rented from the Dollar/Thrifty franchise at SXM. No more! I was very pleased with Leisure and their rep Jackie. I'll be renting from them from now on. Brand new car (still had plastic on interior). On time friendly service. If they were traded I would buy stock in the company.

We had very good experience with Leisure Car Rental from the 1st step (booking the car via company website) to the last minute when we returned the car in St Marten airport.
Once we reserved the car via website Jacqueline contacted us through the e-mail. We requested to make some updates in our initial reservation. Jacqueline made these changes right away: added one more driver (free of charge) and changed the size of the car.
Upon arrival to St Marten we picked up the car at the airport. The car was clean, comfortable and NEW! There was a map of the island in the car (that was helpful).
When we came back to the airport on our last day Jacqueline already was waiting for us. Couple of signatures and we were all set. Quick and easy!
Great customer service!
We definitely recommend Leisure Car Rental to everyone who visit St Martin.

While the big name car rental companies were showing no cars available online, Leisure confirmed my reservation within minutes at an almost unbelievably good price! Having not had any prior experience with renting from Leisure Car Rental, and knowing and reading about some of the horror stories experienced by other travelers at other rental companies in St. Maarten,I was hesitant to book with them. However, those fears were completely dashed with my recent rental experience at Leisure Car Rental. Jackie took my order over the email, gave me a very decent rate, and then met me (as she earlier promised)at the airport once we retrieved our bags. The car was a nice-riding Elantra and had only 2400 miles on it. It was clean, inside and out, and unlike the cars I received in my past ten years of rentals on St. Maarten from companies like Best Deal, Tropicana, etc., everything worked, including the windshield washer. The car was in perfect operating order throughout our two weeks (actually 15 days) stay and when we returned to the airport to leave St. Maarten at the end of our stay, Jackie was there to take the car from us, as she had stated she would when we first arrived in St. Maarten. She was cheerful, welcoming, professional and very nice. I could not have asked for a better car rental experience. I have already recommended Leisure Car Rental to others who are going to St. Maarten and I will use their services on my next trip there. Very well done job, Jackie. You are an asset to the company and to St. Maarten.

Jacqueline was an absolute pleasure to work with. This was our first visit to St. Maarten and several friends told us it was a must to rent a car and drive around the island the day we were there. She was very accommodating, even to the point where she changed our meeting time that morning because I neglected to realize there was a one hour time difference between ships time and their time. She met us at the port as promised and retrieved the car from there also. The car was great too. I highly recommend this company.

January 2011 was my first time for renting from Leisure and I shall definitely do so again. Jimmy's meeting us at the airport with the car and picking it up there made our arrival and departure much smoother those of the past 13 years. The car was great, the price excellent, and attitude superb, and the convenience awesome. It was a very good experience renting my car from Leisure.
Jimmy was waiting for us at our arrival,
in a pair of minutes we did fill the papers and we were on our way to the Royal Palm were we spent two weeks.The car was a good one, in good shape, clean etc.
Jimmy waited for us at the Airport the day of our return, always very professional and cooperative.Next year we'll be back and we will call Jimmy.

Leisure Car Rental was great! We were in St. Maarten in February with a large group (including 3 kids aged 4 and under) and Leisure met us at the airport with car seats and 2 cars just as we had asked. We had difficulty with one of the cars and they were there within a couple of hours and replaced the car for us. They also met us and picked up the cars from the airport terminal which was such a great service! We will definitely rent from Leisure when we return next year! Thank you!!!!

LEISURE CAR RENTAL IS THE REAL DEAL. I had read many of the horror stories about other car rental agencies on Saint Martin on the internet, but the reviews of Leisure were generally positive. I singled them out as one worth trying and I can tell you they exceeded my expectations. Look for Jimmy or one of his reps just outside the airport doors holding the Leisure Car Rental sign. You will not be disappointed. They truly are making a difference by delivering quality vehicles (mine was brand new) and outstanding service at an affordable price. THANKS!!

We ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY recommend Leisure Car Rental!! We have had several previous bad experiences with other car rental companies in St. Maarten so we were pleasantly surprised and blown away with the exceptional service provided by Leisure. Extra special thanks and kudos to Jimmy! He not only promises Customer Satisfaction, but he goes above and beyond the call of duty to deliver it! Jimmy met us at the airport with our car, did up the paperwork and had us on our way in less than 15 minutes. This was such a nice change from our previous experiences of having to take a shuttle to an off-aiport location, stand in line waiting for service, only to find out that the rate we had been quoted would not be honored. This year we needed a car for 6 weeks. Leisure gave us a really nice car at a super reasonable price. On the day we arrived, our vehicle was vandalized where we were staying. We called Jimmy and he took care of everything which was a total relief for us! On the day we left, Jimmy met us at the curb and we simply handed him the keys. (No need to drop off the vehicle at an off-airport location wait for a shuttle to the airport, never knowing how long that might take.) Now THAT'S what we call excellent service!

Have to give a MAJOR thank you to Jimmy Fitzpatrick and Leisure Car rental.
I am just back from my SXM trip and I contacted several car rental agencies.
Jimmy was the first to respond (some never did) and had the best value.
The clincher was his delivery system. I got off the plane and he was there with a sign. We walked outside and within twenty feet was my car on and cool. I signed two papers, we looked at the car which was spotless and he upgraded the car for me and off I went. Total time was maybe five minutes.
Jimmy said on my way back to airport just call and he will meet me. Did so and as I pulled up to the Departure drop off there he was. We walked around the car, he gave me my receipt and off he and I went. I walked the ten feet into the airport. Total time? Three minutes.
Now folks THAT is customer service.
No van trips, no counter lines to wait on, NO HASSLES
Give Jimmy a try you will not be disappointed.

We just returned from St. Maarten and rented a car with Leisure based on a previous positive review. We emailed them the morning of our trip and within an hour had a response. Jimmy was waiting for us at the airport, holding a sign with my name. We walked thirty feet outside where our car was waiting. We were in our car within 5 minutes with no hassles and on our way. We returned the car a few days later at 6:30am and once again, Jimmy was waiting for us. No problems whatsoever! We highly recommend them!

Have rented many times in Aruba and St Maarten and this was by far the best experience, with absolutely no hassles. Someone is waiting for you with your car at the airport and some one is waiting for you when you drop it back of there. Forget the annoyance of having to be bused over somewhere and wait in a line to sign paperwork only to do it all over again at the end of your trip.
Did have one request of Jimmy, as my wife was not pleased with the 1st car we received, and Jimmy had us a 2011 Elantra the next day, which he dropped off at our hotel and picked up the other one.
Definitely a car rental that I would recommend everyone use, though that may not leave any cars left over for me when I return for my next vacation.

If you are visiting St. Maarten - please reach out to Jacqueline. She waited at the airport for an hour and a half while we dealt with the airline over our missing luggage. In addition, we got a free car upgrade since the one we reserved was not available. After reading the horror stories of other folks that use the major car rental chains, this was a refreshing change. Definitely a car rental I recommended and one I plan to use on my next visit to the island.

I just don't know how to express the ease of renting through Leisure. How can you beat someone standing in the arrival area with a card with your name on it. Walk out to the curb, walk around the car, show ID, sign a piece of paper and then drive off. THE CAR WAS RUNNING AND COOL IN 90 DEGREE HEAT. The car was fairly new performed well. We had arranged to meet at the airport at NOON on our departure day. We got to the airport 15 minutes early. There they were again with the name card. EARLY. Early on the island with all the traffic is a big deal. Take the stuff out of the car. Sign a piece of paper and we are done. I highly recommend getting the no deductible insurance. $10 more per day is worth the piece of mind. The roads are very bad, the driving is hectic. Knowing that if a problem occurred that there would be no more expense was worth the money. We will be using them again. FANTASTIC.

We been visiting Sint Maarten since the mid 90's and by far it was the best car rental company we used. Your rep. met us at the airport with sign in hand and took us right to our vehicle he help load the car and we were off to enjoy our vacation. What an easy and fast way, we did not have to load our luggage into another car and be taken to another site to pick up our vehicle. And the return was just as easy we met the rep at the airport he took the vehicle and we were on our way home it was that easy. Thanks for making our vacation hassle free, I would recommend your company to any visitor.

I would definitely use them again. Jimmy was a pleasure to work with. My flight was an hour early and I called him and he still met me at the airport in a timely manner. He offered insurance to me that I did not get online. Unfortunately I took the $5 one and someone broke into the car while parked at the marina the day I was to leave St. Martin. Jimmy met me to look at the car and took car of my statement for the police report. They were very fair with what I paid to have the lock fixed even though it was a brand new car. So much so that I didn't file an insurance claim at home and risk having that go up.

Excellent service!!! I asked for pick-up and delivery at cruise terminal. The car rental representative was very friendly and always on time. Car was not new but in fairly good conditions. I requested a mini-van and they provided me with a seven passengers SUV at no extra charge. Reservation was made through Leisure's Website

I have always rented from the Dollar/Thrifty franchise at SXM. No more! I was very pleased with Leisure and their rep Jackie. I'll be renting from them from now on. Brand new car (still had plastic on interior). On time friendly service. If they were traded I would buy stock in the company.

We had very good experience with Leisure Car Rental from the 1st step (booking the car via company website) to the last minute when we returned the car in St Marten airport.
Once we reserved the car via website Jacqueline contacted us through the e-mail. We requested to make some updates in our initial reservation. Jacqueline made these changes right away: added one more driver (free of charge) and changed the size of the car.
Upon arrival to St Marten we picked up the car at the airport. The car was clean, comfortable and NEW! There was a map of the island in the car (that was helpful).
When we came back to the airport on our last day Jacqueline already was waiting for us. Couple of signatures and we were all set. Quick and easy!
Great customer service!
We definitely recommend Leisure Car Rental to everyone who visit St Martin.

Having not had any prior experience with renting from Leisure Car Rental, and knowing and reading about some of the horror stories experienced by other travelers at other rental companies in St. Maarten,I was hesitant to book with them. However, those fears were completely dashed with my recent rental experience at Leisure Car Rental. Jackie took my order over the email, gave me a very decent rate, and then met me (as she earlier promised)at the airport once we retrieved our bags. The car was a nice-riding Elantra and had only 2400 miles on it. It was clean, inside and out, and unlike the cars I received in my past ten years of rentals on St. Maarten from companies like Best Deal, Tropicana, etc., everything worked, including the windshield washer. The car was in perfect operating order throughout our two weeks (actually 15 days) stay and when we returned to the airport to leave St. Maarten at the end of our stay, Jackie was there to take the car from us, as she had stated she would when we first arrived in St. Maarten. She was cheerful, welcoming, professional and very nice. I could not have asked for a better car rental experience. I have already recommended Leisure Car Rental to others who are going to St. Maarten and I will use their services on my next trip there. Very well done job, Jackie. You are an asset to the company and to St. Maarten.

Jacqueline was an absolute pleasure to work with. This was our first visit to St. Maarten and several friends told us it was a must to rent a car and drive around the island the day we were there. She was very accommodating, even to the point where she changed our meeting time that morning because I neglected to realize there was a one hour time difference between ships time and their time. She met us at the port as promised and retrieved the car from there also. The car was great too. I highly recommend this company.

January 2011 was my first time for renting from Leisure and I shall definitely do so again. Jimmy's meeting us at the airport with the car and picking it up there made our arrival and departure much smoother those of the past 13 years. The car was great, the price excellent, and attitude superb, and the convenience awesome. It was a very good experience renting my car from Leisure.
Jimmy was waiting for us at our arrival,
in a pair of minutes we did fill the papers and we were on our way to the Royal Palm were we spent two weeks.The car was a good one, in good shape, clean etc.
Jimmy waited for us at the Airport the day of our return, always very professional and cooperative.Next year we'll be back and we will call Jimmy.

Leisure Car Rental was great! We were in St. Maarten in February with a large group (including 3 kids aged 4 and under) and Leisure met us at the airport with car seats and 2 cars just as we had asked. We had difficulty with one of the cars and they were there within a couple of hours and replaced the car for us. They also met us and picked up the cars from the airport terminal which was such a great service! We will definitely rent from Leisure when we return next year! Thank you!!!!

LEISURE CAR RENTAL IS THE REAL DEAL. I had read many of the horror stories about other car rental agencies on Saint Martin on the internet, but the reviews of Leisure were generally positive. I singled them out as one worth trying and I can tell you they exceeded my expectations. Look for Jimmy or one of his reps just outside the airport doors holding the Leisure Car Rental sign. You will not be disappointed. They truly are making a difference by delivering quality vehicles (mine was brand new) and outstanding service at an affordable price. THANKS!!

We ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY recommend Leisure Car Rental!! We have had several previous bad experiences with other car rental companies in St. Maarten so we were pleasantly surprised and blown away with the exceptional service provided by Leisure. Extra special thanks and kudos to Jimmy! He not only promises Customer Satisfaction, but he goes above and beyond the call of duty to deliver it! Jimmy met us at the airport with our car, did up the paperwork and had us on our way in less than 15 minutes. This was such a nice change from our previous experiences of having to take a shuttle to an off-aiport location, stand in line waiting for service, only to find out that the rate we had been quoted would not be honored. This year we needed a car for 6 weeks. Leisure gave us a really nice car at a super reasonable price. On the day we arrived, our vehicle was vandalized where we were staying. We called Jimmy and he took care of everything which was a total relief for us! On the day we left, Jimmy met us at the curb and we simply handed him the keys. (No need to drop off the vehicle at an off-airport location wait for a shuttle to the airport, never knowing how long that might take.) Now THAT'S what we call excellent service!

Have to give a MAJOR thank you to Jimmy Fitzpatrick and Leisure Car rental.
I am just back from my SXM trip and I contacted several car rental agencies.
Jimmy was the first to respond (some never did) and had the best value.
The clincher was his delivery system. I got off the plane and he was there with a sign. We walked outside and within twenty feet was my car on and cool. I signed two papers, we looked at the car which was spotless and he upgraded the car for me and off I went. Total time was maybe five minutes.
Jimmy said on my way back to airport just call and he will meet me. Did so and as I pulled up to the Departure drop off there he was. We walked around the car, he gave me my receipt and off he and I went. I walked the ten feet into the airport. Total time? Three minutes.
Now folks THAT is customer service.
No van trips, no counter lines to wait on, NO HASSLES
Give Jimmy a try you will not be disappointed.

We just returned from St. Maarten and rented a car with Leisure based on a previous positive review. We emailed them the morning of our trip and within an hour had a response. Jimmy was waiting for us at the airport, holding a sign with my name. We walked thirty feet outside where our car was waiting. We were in our car within 5 minutes with no hassles and on our way. We returned the car a few days later at 6:30am and once again, Jimmy was waiting for us. No problems whatsoever! We highly recommend them!

Have rented many times in Aruba and St Maarten and this was by far the best experience, with absolutely no hassles. Someone is waiting for you with your car at the airport and some one is waiting for you when you drop it back of there. Forget the annoyance of having to be bused over somewhere and wait in a line to sign paperwork only to do it all over again at the end of your trip.
Did have one request of Jimmy, as my wife was not pleased with the 1st car we received, and Jimmy had us a 2011 Elantra the next day, which he dropped off at our hotel and picked up the other one.
Definitely a car rental that I would recommend everyone use, though that may not leave any cars left over for me when I return for my next vacation.

If you are visiting St. Maarten - please reach out to Jacqueline. She waited at the airport for an hour and a half while we dealt with the airline over our missing luggage. In addition, we got a free car upgrade since the one we reserved was not available. After reading the horror stories of other folks that use the major car rental chains, this was a refreshing change. Definitely a car rental I recommended and one I plan to use on my next visit to the island.

I just don't know how to express the ease of renting through Leisure. How can you beat someone standing in the arrival area with a card with your name on it. Walk out to the curb, walk around the car, show ID, sign a piece of paper and then drive off. THE CAR WAS RUNNING AND COOL IN 90 DEGREE HEAT. The car was fairly new performed well. We had arranged to meet at the airport at NOON on our departure day. We got to the airport 15 minutes early. There they were again with the name card. EARLY. Early on the island with all the traffic is a big deal. Take the stuff out of the car. Sign a piece of paper and we are done. I highly recommend getting the no deductible insurance. $10 more per day is worth the piece of mind. The roads are very bad, the driving is hectic. Knowing that if a problem occurred that there would be no more expense was worth the money. We will be using them again. FANTASTIC.

We been visiting Sint Maarten since the mid 90's and by far it was the best car rental company we used. Your rep. met us at the airport with sign in hand and took us right to our vehicle he help load the car and we were off to enjoy our vacation. What an easy and fast way, we did not have to load our luggage into another car and be taken to another site to pick up our vehicle. And the return was just as easy we met the rep at the airport he took the vehicle and we were on our way home it was that easy. Thanks for making our vacation hassle free, I would recommend your company to any visitor.
